Kitui South member of parliament Dr. Rachael Kaki Nyamai has congratulated ukambani County Assemblies for passing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Bill overwhelmingly.
In a press conference accompanied by other MPs, Rachael Nyamai said BBI is a document that when fully implemented will bring more resources to our counties and at the ward level.
“I would like to take this time to thank MCAs from our region for passing this document, (BBI). We know very well that this is a document that is going to bring resources to our counties 35%, we are going to have resources at the ward level and we are looking forward to it.” Kaki said.
The vocal 2nd term jubilee MP also thanked Ukambani MCAs for taking their time to undertake public participation to explain the document to their people in a language they understand better!
Kaki further thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Hon. Raila Odinga for initiating the BBI process.
“… and finally, I would like to take this moment to that thank our President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta and to thank Rt Hon Raila Amollo Odinga for starting the process” She added
So far only Baringo and Nandi county assemblies have rejected the BBI bill. 42 assemblies have approved the constitutional amendment bill much higher than the targeted 24 assemblies.
