KPA MD Manduku arrested over graft allegations

Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director Danied Manduku was on Monday afternoon over corruption allegations.

Manduku was arrested in Nairobi and escorted to DCI headquarters along kiambu road for questioning.

DCI boss George Kinoti confirmed the arrest and said that manduku is being questioned over fresh graft issues and will be arraigned in court on Tuesday.

Manduku was arrested alongside Kenya Revenue Authority commissioner in charge of customs and border control Kevin Lewis

According to investigators handling the matter, The MD is accused of unlawfully recommending the gazettement of Nairobi Inland Cargo Terminal (NICT) as KPA’s facility yet it did not meet the requirements for gazettement.

The KPA boss is also accused of colluding with Lewis to defeat justice by causing the payment of sh3.1 million for KPA’s peripheral facility license for Michel Cotts Freight Kenya Ltd.

The two are set to face several charges among them abuse of office, negligence of duty among others.
