Machakos MP Munyaka calls for constitutional changes on how to impeach governors

Machakos Town Constituency MP Victor Munyaka has called for constitutional amendments on how to impeach Governors in Kenya.

This follows the impeachment of Governor Mike Sonko on Thursday by senators.

Munyaka was speaking on Saturday during a burial in machakos county.
According to the legislator, he feels that sonko’s impeachment was unfair simply because the senators were receiving commands from “outsiders.”

He suggests that there should be formed a special tribunal to handle the issue of governors impeachment.

“I propose future impeachments, there should Be special tribunal so that the particular person can be investigated by that particular independent tribunal.” – said Munyaka

Munyaka added that all these impeachments are political games meant to settle political scores.

Below is the full speech of the legislator.
