Nairobi County partners with National Government to refurbish Iconic City Stadium

Nairobi City County is set to partner with the National Government; Ministries of Sports and Public Works to refurbish the iconic City Stadium, that has been a host of big matches in the past.

Speaking during a site visit held today Wednesday 30th September, Governor H.E Mike Mbuvi Sonko assured that works will start immediately, adding that his Government is focused on improving sports facilities in the the county to ensure talents are nurtured among the youth.

The county government had already commenced the uplifting of the stadium with the construction of VIP restroom, terraces, changing rooms and toilet blocks.

Sonko and the County Executive for Sports Ms Lucia Mulwa were joined by Sports PS Joe Okudo, CAS Hassan Noor Hassan, Gen. Jack Tuwei -Athletics Kenya Boss, Shadrack Maluki -NOC Kenya, Fred Muteti -Chair, Sports Kenya among other National Government and County Sports department officers.
