Police boss arrested for failing to account for cashbail amounting to Ksh 148,000

Former Isiolo Police Station officer Commanding Station (OCS) Chief Inspector Fredrick Moses Odhiambo Ndiege was last week on Wednesday 30th arrested for the offence of stealing.

Mr odhiambo is accused of failing to account for cashbail money amounting to Ksh 148,000. The money was deposits by accused persons released from police cells to attend courts on different dates.

According to police details the ocs couldn’t account for the amount during an handover exercise to his predecessors Chief Inspector Ndirangu on 6th Nov. After, the ocs ran into hiding instead of proceeding to garissa county where he had been transferred to.

As per cash bail receipt books serial no. 0344901 to 0344950 and serial no. 1330751 to 1330800 were unaccounted.

He was arrested at Maili nane area within Buuri Sub county, Meru county by members of public who alerted Scpc Isiolo North Mr. George Kariuki. The Scpc then dispatched police officers from Kulamawe police station who went and re-arrested him and was escorted to Isiolo Police statio
